I've not had that problem, but I cancelled my adwords campaign about a year ago, last month they charged me 30 pounds out of the blue.

I got hold of the debitors details from my bank and apparently adwords use an Irish credit firm to process their charges. Got hold of the Irish company, they said they had no record of the charge. Well it's on my damn statement, and my bank tells me it went to their bank account! lol

I rang up Google adwords too, they said I had no outstanding fees and I don't owe them anything, haven't owed them anything for months, and that they have no record of a 30 pound charge either.

They've been "investigating" it for over a month now and won't tell me anything when I ask them.....

*sigh*
