how to overcome opacity issue

I come across this trick whilst developing a clients website, I don't know if this solution is mentioned anywhere else on the web I hope its useful to someone.

One issue with using opacity in layers is that the above images, background colour etc take on the opacity as well...

you may say.. "ok, I would use an absolute to position a new layer as then it would no longer be a child of the opacity div", thats great, but what if you need that layer to stay in the...

web design, world away from the possibilities

As I hunt the internet more and more I am left wondering where this will all lead, is there a limit to the technology we have come to know as the internet ?

All the time there are new features and new ideas on how we can use it, I will be honest and say I am expecting big things, for example: have you ever thought of the possibility of wiring your computer to your household electronic items ? would this stretch as far as forgetting to switch of your lights in the house and just grabbing...

Back in business

Hey Guys,

Its been ages since I've been on here. Like over a year, but I'm back and want to share my not so adventurous (or adventurous) adventures with you.

After I graduated in 2008, I was ready for the outside world. I wasn't just motivated... I was highly motivated and amazingly ambitious.

Countless job applications and unsuccessful interviews later and my self esteem was on an almighty low. What am I doing? I can't be a web designer? I'm never...

Google Wave Review

Over the past 3 or 4 months, Google wave has been up and running to those that received an invitation, for those that were lucky enough to have gained access into it they would have found a while host of useful tools and great new inspirational software abilities.

Google wave has been about for a very short time and is in its infancy, but what I saw when I finally got into this much sought after piece of software was very disappointing.

Although the site itself was buggy...
