web design, world away from the possibilities

As I hunt the internet more and more I am left wondering where this will all lead, is there a limit to the technology we have come to know as the internet ?

All the time there are new features and new ideas on how we can use it, I will be honest and say I am expecting big things, for example: have you ever thought of the possibility of wiring your computer to your household electronic items ? would this stretch as far as forgetting to switch of your lights in the house and just grabbing...

Google Wave Review

Over the past 3 or 4 months, Google wave has been up and running to those that received an invitation, for those that were lucky enough to have gained access into it they would have found a while host of useful tools and great new inspirational software abilities.

Google wave has been about for a very short time and is in its infancy, but what I saw when I finally got into this much sought after piece of software was very disappointing.

Although the site itself was buggy...

yahoo.. a waste of web space...

I have had an email account with yahoo for around 5 or 6 years, when you sign up you also get access to yahoo answers, so being the sort of person I am I thought I would help those in the computer programming section which includes web design and development.

I started having trouble posting answers so I thought I would use their form to let them know, and they gave me an automated reply stating that it could be my isp or a virus on my pc... ( what a joke )

so, I replied...

Web Design Charging

I know this is a silly little thing, but I want to chat a little about payments and customers.

When a customer wants a site designed and they are working on a budget, I don't think its ever a good idea to do a site just for the sake of 'getting more work.'

You have to know where your limits are, make sure you have a minimum price for everything that you do and stick to it, you cant start building sites for pittance otherwise you will suddenly find that your earnings have...

Strict and Transitional Doctype Differences

Transitional was made for what it sounds like, and that is that its ok to use on an old site that you are updating to transition from html to xhtml, for brand new sites you should be using a strict Doctype because strict is the newest form of xhtml and html

Some people might say 'well what about the elements you can no longer use ?...
my answer would be that there was a reason for them to be removed, weather it be for accessibility or speed of your site, it was done to improve...
