Default Google Wave public trial live today 30 Sep 2009 @ 10.27

Today sees the trail launch of Google's most anticipated product launch since GMail.

The integration of email, instant messaging and wiki-type editing features is a huge leap in cloud applications, and I am hoping that my invite will be accepted.

One of the most controversial developments is that it won't work in Internet Explorer, with users of this browser needing to download a "Chrome Frame" plug-in to get this application working. Unsurprisingly, MicroSoft have advised users to not download this as it "compromises security"

Google Wave will be opened up to 100,000 users (each of whom can invite 5 further friends to join) from 16:00 BST today

If you get an invite, please add me

I'm really hoping for an invite, I signed up quite a while ago. But if I'm not lucky enough to get one, I'd really appreciate somebody passing their luck on.

Has anyone not tried this out yet?

...and what does everyone who has tried it out think of it?

I think its really cool. However, they need to have an option to disable live typing. And they need to make it public.

So far I have found it a little useful for client work; although we have other online tools, such as mockview which is much more productive.

All in all; it's a bit... meh!

Until they start integrating other tools into it, then it's a little pointless.

might be good for meetings for forums.. if means if there is something you are discussing, you can make a list of what needs to be discussed and then put action points under it for everyone to comment to or suggest
