I was just thinking over how this could open another little window in design, being able to give design over the users' browser tabs etc.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not... Or even if it's possible outside of Firefox's own websites (trying to get the script working for myself... Doesn't seem to be working) - but nonetheless it's an interesting concept.

What do you guys think?

It's not possible outside Firefox's website. The website is chained to the browser viewport, and rightly should be.

I'm glad its not possible to 'hijack' a users browser. Harks back to the days of setting modal browser windows, closing and opening, stopping the back button from working properly - if its not inside the browser viewport a web designer should not be interfering.

Yeah I see how it could be taken advantage of too easily... I just thought it would be nice to have the browser colour itself to blend in nicely with the website.

There's no reason you couldn't offer a branded persona on your site - hmm, got me thinking... ;)
