    Question picking a domain name 2 Feb 2009 @ 18.18

    Hey Guys,

I'm looking to purchase a domain name for myself where I can put my portfolio and sites I have done so that potential employers can see the work I can do.

I'm struggling to come up with a domain name and could do with some ideas. I'm looking to get into web development so something with design or maybe web in the title maybe. I think I'd also like my initials in the title which are ama.

Here are some I have come up with using my initials and surname:

    amadesign.co.uk
    azaddesign.co.uk
    azadsign.co.uk
    amawebdesign.co.uk
    ama.co.uk

    Whats peoples ideas? Thoughts?

ama.co.uk would be remembered as it is short and sweet rofl.. I would go for that one, but it can have seo consequences as there are no 'real words' there... ideally you want something that gives the best of both worlds

amawebdesign.co.uk I would go for. It includes the keywords web design and also is fairly short. The amadesign.co.uk could be read as A Mad Design lol which could possibly have either good or bad effects on how people see your site.

    amadesign.co.uk
    amawebdesign.co.uk
    ama.co.uk

    I would buy all three.

amawebdesign for your webdesign business, put all relevant info in, but with an emphasis on the web part.

amadesign for your design business, put all relevant info in, but with an emphasis on the design part.

Cross link them when they are done.

The ama I would buy just because it is available, either use it later or sell it somewhere down the line.
To be able to buy a 3 letter domain-name and not do so is classed criminally insane!
