whatever you do, keep it short. if a potential client goes onto your website and sees 10 or so paragraphs for them to read, they'll be out faster than you can say "CSS layouts." Lists are always good, they summarize content in an organized and easy-to-read manner.

Here is a good example of too much content: http://www.123triad.com/ Every page I go to has quite a sizable portion of text.

(Ironically, notice how they are named 123triad but their symbol has four sections )

Start by what the site is for...the index page should be about a summary of the services and the worthiness of the website. It must be written in such a way to attract visitors to read through the whole site or to give them full information on queries that they might have while searching your site.

if you are confused...why don't you take some professional help? Without seeing your site, it is very hard to suggest you on the content. You can hire a professional content writer for the job.What say?
