Hi All,

i have been spending some time on this website and would like some feedback on what is good and more importantly what is bad.

this is not the finished product but it is getting close :)

there are a few things which dont work for example the rss and twitter links, and the newsletter :)

i havent checked it yet for browser compatibility so theres bound to be some issues there :(

all the above problems can be easily fixed just wanted some feedback on the overall look and feel of the site please

and here is my old site which looks like its been tango'd lol

any feedback is appreciated
thanks
Luke

Thumbs up Not bad

Hi Luke,

Your right about the old site looking like its been tango'ed.

The new one looks quite good. Having the facebook, twitter and rss feed at the top is good. Overall it does look cleaner... I guess with the white background.

One thing I'm not too keen on. The big gray buttons... I think they maybe too big... it doesn't really look like its a navigational area. Maybe just have a long strip like the orange navigation you have at the top.

I'd maybe break the page up a bit more. The sections that you have... entertainment bestsellers, computing bestsellers. Break them up, maybe have something so the titles of each stand out a bit more. Like on your old site, you have tabs for each heading, something like that.

Also, i have to add, the discount codes on the right, I prefer the look on your old site. Its more visual. It's broken up better.

Hope that's helpful!
ama

I'll have a look when I get home, as this seems to be blocked at work.

thanks for the feedback mate appreciate it.

yeah the codes on the right need improving thats for sure looks a bit messy.
also the grey buttons could do with 'lick of paint' i actually like the size of them but they could be made to look more like navigation buttons :)

cheers
lots of food for thought
Luke

Just had a quick peek and, like aazad, I agree the navigation shouldn't be big buttons - just have a continuous background.

On a content note, if you compare 2,888,695 items, why say just 'over 2million items' - surely 'almost 3million items ' sounds much better :)

hi mate,

whoops must of left "'over 2million items" in there by mistake as there is now usually 3million+ items. i will find that and correct it :) thanks

as for the big buttons, im gonna have a look around for some inspiration although i quite like them i agree that they could be better so might as well act on it now instead of waiting lol.

cheers
Luke

If you want to keep them, or some derivative thereof, then make them change on rollover - at them moment they just serve no purpose, the rollover effect is on the text only. Nothing extravagant, just a subtle change would do.

Heres some inspiration for you ;)

looking good, needs the images optimisting a little I think.. I could be wrong, might just be me..

also, your descriptions within your items are disappearing, like for example
