Default Email image signatures - good or bad? 10 Jul 2012 @ 22.34

I have a gmail email account and use an image for my signature.

What is the current thinking on this? Should I change to plain ol' text?

It all depends on where the image is being stored and served from. You may find that certain email clients, client networks, etc block the image, in which case your signature will look a mess.

You also need to consider the impact on storage / data usage when using an image. The file may only be 5kb, but if you send 1000 emails a week then thats close to 5mb of data you have sent...

I would personally keep it clean and simple.
