Question PROHost UK Advertising Banner Needs Feedback

I have been trying to create a advertising banner for my new web hosting company and have come up with something in Photoshop CS4 and wondered if you guys would give me some feedback on the look of the banner.

I have little or no experience using Photoshop as saltedm8 already knows so to me this is a HUGE acheivement.

If some of you can give me some general ideas that would be fantastic.

Remember I have know knowledge of using Photoshop so this really is a first.

I have done an updated version. Does this look better...?

Also I don't know why but the quality looks great on my own screen but when I upload it as an attachment on the forums it degrades a lot.

It's a png so I will also upload a .jpg to see if that clears it up a bit.

The second is better but I think losing the backgound layer and having whitespace or at least dropping its opacity quite a lot will help with the text readability. Try lowering the opacity of your drop shadows on the gold box too and maybe try another colour without the outer glow for the right box heading. Looking good though Wrams :D

Well I have done some adjustments for now and will do some more in a minute. Heres the next version.

Oh by the way Michael hope you had a great Xmas...?

:EDIT: I have just noticed I have left out an "L" on "Installatron" in the list of all hosting plans receive area. I will sort that out now. FIXED!! ;)

It is a little better but dont it looked a bit washed out now lol how about go for something silvery and greys throughout, make it look more modern using those colours and rounded corners here and there, maybe do a lighter black for the main text too :) Yes thanks Wrams, hope you did too!
