Hi All,

Well i finally did it, after several months of debating whether or not to create my own or get someone to do it for me, and what i should include to relate it to my website which was the most difficult part.

here is my logo its my first attempt and i used this tutorial. Its not great but its a start, i may still decide to get someone to do it professionally but we'll see :)

i would like to add more detail to the bags and somehow incorperate the cornish flag

any feed back would be very much appreciated good or bad

thanks all

my old "logo" can be found here

thanks
Luke

The lines on the handles need should go or the bags should get lines. I'd remove because you already have fades.
I'd draw a third bag (another angle) instead of flipping the first.

That gradient line is bad and should go.
The font is ok. And the bags themselves are good, the perspective isn't perfect, but doesn't have to be.

Hi Shinyshadow,

thanks for your feedback,

i didnt relise the lines on the handles, oops will remove them, damn you noticed i cheated with the third bag :) just thought the positioning looked good there althought it needs tweeking.

the gradient i agree doesnt look that great but im not sure what else to do at the mo until i come more familiar with photoshop.

many thanks for your time
Luke

shapes aren't quite lining up. The gradients don't seem to fit, also. And the stripes should be a slightly different color from the background.

ljackson, I know it sounds ridiculous and patronizing, but honestly it does help - I do it all the time otherwise I get it wrong :P - but look at the gradient of a cube so you can imitate it and get the shadings right. Those gradients at the moment look too strong.
I really like the new spin you've added on it, but you've made the handles blue but nothing else, it seems a little odd. I'd add a bit more blue into it, through the font or.. something.

Also - I'm just looking at the tutorial you looked at, and they added in extra gradients to make the bag appear folded in the middle etc. - I'd try adding those bits in too, it would definitely make it look better :-)

Very good though, I don't think you'll need a professionally made one ;-)

One tip, it might work better to do it in a vector graphics program like Illustrator or Corel Draw. Much better than Photoshop's lasso tool. (If your looking for something free try Inkscape)
