Cursor - Arrow/Pointer conflict on IE
25 May 2011 @ 11.41 Hi guys,
After some deliberation, I have decided that I am posting on the correct forum.
I have installed a CSS menu which is awesome (from stunichols.com) and I have a very strange thing happening to it in the presence of my adjacent flash movie.
Here is the link:

Use IE 7,8, 9 , Please be patient as it may not manifest right away but eventually , you will see that when you hover over the flyout css menu links, the cursor begins to battle between the pointer and the arrow. Has anyone else had this problem before?
It does not occur when I remove the flash movie from the page.
Also, as I am a bit of a newbie to flash, can anyone recommend the safest most portable format to save my flash movies in to cater lets say as far back as IE7.
thanks very much

25 May 2011 @ 12.30 The only issue I'm seeing is the occasional flicker of the main nav backgrounds as they change states. This would not occur if you used sprites and changed the background position on hover. If the cursor issue persists, try explicitly setting the cursor (on the li's) in the css: CSS cursor property
As for portable format for flash? Well, its swf only - version wise, use the minimum version required to support the contents of your movie. Basic transitions and AS2: ver 8. Basic transitions and AS3 ver 9. 3D rotation: ver 10+. If a user does not have a high enough version they will be prompted to upgrade so there is no real issue.

25 May 2011 @ 12.38 Hey thanks for your reply and for your advice about flash. Its definitely happening tho, I have tried resetting the cursor in the css, happens regardless but as soon as the flash movie is gone doesn't happen. Actually I did post on this months ago and everyone said that they couldn't see it. Do you think that it could be an issue with my graphics card? I do have a few problems with it during movies.

25 May 2011 @ 12.41 Could well be. Can you try a different computer or gfx card?

25 May 2011 @ 12.47 Yes [SOLVED] was my Graphics Card , goes to show that like anything else computer related, the fault could lie at the lowest level in the hardware itself. Thanks anyway
