Default Idea for a Forum

How do people think a forum about music would work? There is only one rival as far as I can tell - typing "music forums" on google does not show much up.

Could it work?

It could work, I think its a good idea, if there is only one or 2 forums, you could do well at it

Music forums are very appealing to those who both play instruments and listen to music a lot. I think a social kinda music forum would be successful, you know like customised and myspacey :)

I have seen a few people create them using SMF etc and they havent been very successful but, I am sure if its on VB then it will do well with a nice custom template :)

How many categories would there be? Surely not one for every genre? :surprise:

If there is a gap in the market, then sure why not. Check out the UK music forums, they seem to be popular (over 30,000 members) UK Music Forum at UKMusic.com - Upfront and Ruthlessly Independent

For content I was thinking album reviews, discussions on certain bands, Top 40 discussions, etc. More of a social music forum then a instrument forum.

I've got a spare copy of VB which ends in October, so I was thinking if I can find VBSEO I could set it up. Then if it goes well, in October get VB again.

So, anyone wanna buy VBSEO for me :D
