Default Free Scripts Site.

It really pees me off when people looking for free scripts - image rotators, etc type it on google and find an example that works. However, many times the example is not good, semantic or clean code. Often it will not degrade well at all. These scripts are used on loads of websites but it's not very good. Also PHP scripts is somewhere that could be much improved on IMO. Users don't want to have to search through all those code-snippet websites for the geeks, and need simple scripts, easy instructions for intergration, and scripts that work, are nicely coded and degrade.

I smell an idea for a site... any ideas or thoughts?

Quite a few scripts I've wanted to use before have been invalid so we ended up removing those that were.

Its definitely a good idea. I vote no eye-candy scripts though, I have an unnatural hatred of them.

I have a personal dislike of all code sites..

I dont really like using others code, and I know there is the phrase "dont re-invent the wheel", but I dont know, I will look at someones code for reference and then rewrite it.

One thing that would make the site very unique, is to allow people to upload their own code, and store it in their own script library. I have a few little snippets of code I use about the place and I know I should be more organised but I always end up going back to my previous project to get code for my current project. If there was an online place I could store all my scripts easily and share them with like minded people and get help on improving them etc.. well that can only lead to better things :)
