    Default Displaying Search Results 3 Aug 2012 @ 22.11

I just finished designing a website for a client. The client is very happy with the design aspects of the job but extremely disappointed with the way google displays the results when you query the company name.

The google search results show a homepage link with the company name as a title, which client likes, but then it also shows links for almost all individual pages in the site (separate URLs for each). The site has 20+ pages so the search results show all of them as separate URLs.

I need your help in explaining my how can I fix this embarrassing situation. The ideal way to display the search result is in a table format whereby there will be only one main link (with company name heading) and then the other 5 to 6 links displayed under it as a table (like, for example, the way it is displayed when you search for frazier and deeter.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

How Google displays your search results you have zero control over. The only things you can control are the title and the description of your site and even then sometimes google does not use them for the sake of relevancy it may for example take some of the description or all the description from your content.

As Saltedm8 states, unfortunately you are unable to control what Google will include or how. Google uses sitelinks to show what it believes are the most relevant links within your site to what they have searched for. You can learn more about sitelinks here: https://support.google.com/webmaster...n&answer=47334

One area that determines the site links is your sites structure, so enaure that you have a good, logical structure in place.

Google always shows the relevant links of one website...Put title meta tags on your website pages and upload XML sitemap as well.

    .

Generally, we don't have control over display of search results but we at our end have to provide a proper web page description so that search engines understand it and index it.
